About Me
You're here because you want to know about me, right?
I'm BabaYeeHaw and I'm a small artist - literally, I stand at 4'11".
My name is Maria Katherine - professionally, folks call me Maria, while close friends and family call me Kaye. The name "BabaYeeHaw" actually came about because I was trying to come up with something clever evoking magic, whimsy, and downright goofy one night when playing Divinity 2 with my buddies online. Now it's not just my gamer tag because it really stuck with me after that.
Background
"I've been making art since I can remember..." that's the usual story, right? Sure I have, but nothing really worthwhile until much later on. When I was a kid, I was just scribbling on blank surfaces and breaking maybe one or two family computers in an attempt to learn about how things worked.
Prior to starting this, for about 7 years I was an artist & detail finisher at CherryTree Inc. I did detailing on Borg Cube PC cases (fyi, my rig is still going strong for gaming & 3D slicing), painted figurines, and got to work on lots of other crazy projects there. This place was the catalyst for me starting BabaYeeHaw Crafts. Wild & wacky creativity was fostered there and it will always have a piece of my heart.
In more of my past life, I was an editorial cartoonist and comic strip artist with The Roundup, which is LA Pierce College's newspaper. I also had an Etsy shop for a while under the name "Aodhan Heart" making pet beds and accessories for small animals like rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas; sometimes I made soft squeakers for dogs and catnip-filled toys for cats too.
So anyway...
I 3D print & paint keycap miniatures and figurines, in my humble little home in Los Angeles, California. I'm also a digital artist and draw webcomics about a blue bunny and his purple elephant brother. Sometimes I crochet cozy things. I like making stuff. And I hope ya'll like the stuff I make.
XO,
BabaYeeHaw
